Lawn Ornaments
Information
Lawn ornaments are the perfect addition outside your home to add
whimsy and interest to your yard. You should consider that
there are a lot of options for lawn ornaments and keep looking
until you find just the right reflection of your personality.
My neighborhood has a lot of lawn ornaments. My neighbor
is very religious and believes in angels. She has an
angel-themed birdbath in her front yard.
The neighbor on the other side of the street from me has a wacky
metal bird and several other odd lawn ornaments. She is an
interesting lady and her lawn ornaments reflect that.
I would venture to say that in my neighborhood, the
lawnornaments run about half wacky. The wackiest one I’ve
seen is a metal chicken in the yard of the corner house on my
street.
Lawn Ornaments Tips
Three streets away from me is one of the most unusual
lawnornaments. It is also my daughter’s favorite of all the
lawn ornaments in our neighborhood. The people living in that
house have a blue peacock made entirely of metal with a springy fan
tail. It truly is a sight to behold.
I do believe that my favorite lawn ornaments are the classic
pink flamingos from the 1950’s. I know that they are a symbol
of American consumerism at its very worst, but I just don’t
care. The creator of the pink lawn flamingos was awarded an
Ig Nobel Prize in 1996.
My stepson is pretty sure that he wants to buy and set up
Christmas lawn ornaments this year. I am dreading it a little
bit. I know that his enthusiasm is going to outlast mine and
I want to make him happy. I think that we are going to have
to sit down together and plan the way it will look and how many man
hours the lawn ornaments will take.
There is a very quiet family down the street from me that
practice Buddhism. They have several lawn ornaments of Buddha
in their side yard. They’ve created a lovely meditation area
on the side of their house and have let everyone on the block know
that it is available to anyone at any time for use
meditating. I thought that it was very sweet and community
minded to do that.
